I will be walking again on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at the Poplar Head Park in Dothan, Alabama to help raise money to find a cure for my wonderful daughter Kelli Douglas Hernandez who has Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. Although Kelli has benefited from research funded by the LLS, this campaign is not just for Kelli but for her family, other people who have blood cancers as well as their families and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's.

My good friend and fellow golfer, Jerry Hardy, found out on June 2013 that he has Acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Jerry and I go way back to our school days. We've had many a good time over the years and I want more good times ahead so I'm walking for him too!

So I'm raising money again this year for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Light The Night Walk:  finding better treatments and cures for blood cancers so patients can live better, longer lives. Give up a week or two of going to Starbucks (less caffeine makes you calm), seeing a movie (who needs to see or hear a lot of sex, violence and obscene language), smoking (good for your own health), drinking alcohol (ok, just one a day), or eating at a fast food place (lose a few pounds) to free up a few bucks to contribute to this worthy cause.
